This artwork
was painted by
Vincent van Gogh. The
title is “The Starry Night”. “The Starry Night” is a modern and
post-impressionism art. Vincent’s medium was regular painting. It was painted
in June 1889. There are features like a crescent moon, Venus, and glowing
stars. At the bottom, there’s a humble village surrounding the church.
Vincent used circular shapes to make the moon and stars glow. I could tell he used his brush to make swirls for the dark night. What inspires Vincent to do this work of art. Vincent had some similarities and repetitive elements. He used the same circular motion to make the moon and the stars glow and used different shades of blue for the night sky. Van Gogh used white and yellow to create a spiral effect to draw attention to the sky. He also used dark blue and greens. The subject of his painting is landscapes.

Van Gogh
painted this during the time he was ill and was in the hospital. The village is
painted dark colors but, the brightly lit sky creates a sense of comfort. This
was the view Van Gogh had when he would look out his window.
I like his
brushwork for the night. It can relate to what his village looked like at
sunrise or at sundown. Even though he had less color options, he made it work
in his favor.
